For centuries, artists have been trying to capture the beauty and iridescence found in nature on a dragonfly’s wing or a peacock’s feather. Now artists and craftspeople are using dicrohic glass’s unique reflective quality to reproduce the gleaming colour. The luminous beauty of dichroic glass is due to its of very thin layers of metal oxides such as magnesium and titanium. These thin layers of oxides have a total thickness of three to five millionths of an inch.
